SHAMOKIN - Dylan Kane, 19, of 410 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief relating to a disturbance at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at 822 E. Dewart St.
Police reported Kane kicked in the front door at his mother's residence, causing damage, and also yelled outside the home.
Chain-reaction four-car accident
THARPTOWN - No injuries were reported in a four-vehicle chain-reaction accident Sunday morning on Route 61 near the intersection with 16th Street.
Patrolman Joshua Wynn, who is continuing his investigation into the 8:53 a.m. accident, reported Matthew Spears, 30, of Coal Township, was driving a vehicle north on the highway when Alyssa Stutzman, 26, of Shamokin, who was operating a vehicle in front of Spears, made an improper left turn on Route 61, causing Spears to slow down to avoid hitting Stutzman's vehicle.
Police said Charles Derk, 45, of Coal Township, who was traveling behind Spears, suddenly slowed down to avoid striking Spears' vehicle. A vehicle operated by Zachary Rothermel, 22, of Shamokin, who was traveling behind Derk, struck the rear of Derk's vehicle, pushing it into the rear of Spears' vehicle. Police said a vehicle operated by Dana Korbich, 33, of Paxinos, who was traveling behind Rothermel, was not able to stop in time to avoid hitting the rear of Rothermel's vehicle.
Police said charges are pending against Stutzman, whose vehicle was not struck during the accident.
Spare tire stolen
COAL TOWNSHIP - Ken Mull, 55, of 1800 Tioga St., Trailer 15, Coal Township, reported his 2001 Dodge pickup truck was scratched and a spare tire was removed from beneath the vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence a week ago.
Mull said the tire is valued at $200.
COAL TOWNSHIP - Barry Snyder, 64, of 1800 Tioga St., Trailer 16, Coal Township, told police someone scratched his 1998 Nissan and 2005 Chevrolet while they were parked in front of his home a week ago.
MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Christian Lee Kehler, 36, of 1114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, was arraigned Thursday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, failure to drive in a single lane and careless driving involving a vehicle stop at 7:20 a.m. Thursday on Route 901 between Excelsior and the former Boylan's Garage.
Patrolman David Stamets filed the charges.
Police reported Kehler was observed driving all over the road and was found to be in possession of 15 bags of heroin.
Kehler was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $50,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before Jones on Wednesday.
