Sexual assault

WEST MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - George S. Holmes, 49, of Ashland, has been charged by state police at Frackville with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, simple assault and harassment relating to the sexual assault of a 29-year-old Pottsville area woman at 8 p.m. Sunday the Rodeway Inn on Altamont Boulevard.

Police reported the victim was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center South in Pottsville for treatment.

Police said Holmes was apprehended at the scene a short time after the alleged offenses. He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James Reiley of Pottsville and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

Pit bull at large

SHAMOKIN - Luella Miller, 56, of 231 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for allowing her pit bull to run at large shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday in her neighborhood.

Police said the dog chased people into their yards and on the street.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Ashley McElhone, 19, of 918 N. Rock St., Shamokin, and her live-in boyfriend, Mark Tisdale, 27, were cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for disorderly conduct involving a disturbance at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Market and Walnut streets.

Police reported McElhone, who also was cited for harassment, allegedly pushed Christina Clausi, 34, of 1811 W. Water St., Coal Township, in the chest, yelled profanities at her and threatened to harm her. Tisdale is accused of cursing Clausi and her daughter.

Public drunkenness

SHAMOKIN - Gary Sheriff, 49, of 421 N. Shamokin St., Apt. 3, Shamokin, was cited by Patrolman Raymond Siko II for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct involving an incident shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday at Shakespeare and Franklin streets.

Police said Sheriff urinated on the street.

Fight charges

SHAMOKIN - Michael Gilligbauer, 21, of 409 N. Rock St., Apt. 2, Shamokin, and a 17-year-old Shamokin male were cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for disorderly conduct relating to a fight at 9:36 p.m. Aug. 5 at Pine and Franklin streets.
