WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP - Terry A. Swartz, 53, of Mount Carmel, suffered a minor injury in a two-vehicle crash late Friday night on Interstate 80 in this Union County township.
Swartz was a passenger in a 2010 Subaru Outback operated by Catherine L. Faust, 67, of Winfield, who suffered a moderate injury in the 11 p.m. accident.
State police at Milton reported Faust was traveling west in the right lane of the highway when she attempted to make a left turn into an emergency crossover. Faust's auto then struck the passenger side rear door of a 2000 Volvo tractor trailer truck driven by Wieslaw R. Kielb, 55, of Sterling Heights, Mich., who escaped injury.
After hitting Kielb's car, Faust's vehicle struck a traffic sign while spinning counterclockwise. The Volvo continued west before coming to rest in the center median, where its trailer was struck in the driver's side by Faust's auto.
Faust and Swartz were transported by White Deer Ambulance to Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Christine L. Jeffrey, 27, of 554 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, was charged with forgery and changing the date of a prescription in an attempt to obtain Percocet at Burch's Drug Store, 120 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg, June 18.
The charges were filed by Ralpho Township Patrolman Chris Grow.
MOUNT CARMEL - Frank E. Camp, 43, of 3 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Chief of Police Todd Owens and Patrolman Matthew Dillman with two counts of possession of seven bags of crack cocaine and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension relating to an incident at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.
Camp was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Two escape injury
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Randall F. Ulrich, 45, and a 14-year-old passenger escaped injury Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle accident along Snydertown Road.
State police at Stonington reported Ulrich was driving south when his 2006 Nissan Pathfinder struck a deer on the road at 7:20 a.m. before coming to a controlled stop on the right shoulder.
