Harassment

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 16-year-old male from Shamokin was cited by Patrolman Terry Ketchem for harassment for allegedly punching another 16-year-old male from Shamokin at Shamokin Area Middle/High School Oct. 3 prior to classes starting.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 12-year-old male from Coal Township was cited by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky for disorderly conduct relating to an incident at 3:26 p.m. Sept. 27 on a Shamokin Area school bus.

Police said the juvenile punched a 13-year-old male from Coal Township several times on the body and face at a bus stop in Lower Excelsior. Police said the victim suffered minor injuries, but did not seek medical treatment.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Sarah J. Oxenford, 32, of Hummelstown, was charged by Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving and failure to have children properly restrained in a vehicle.

The charges relate to an Oct. 8 incident on the Beaverdale Highway (Route 2038) in which Oxenford was observed driving all over the road with two small children in the back of her vehicle. Police said Oxenford became belligerent when stopped by police and refused to submit to chemical testing.

PFA violation

KULPMONT - Patrolman Patrick McAndrew has charged Robert L. Persing III, 23, of 1 Clarion St., Shamokin, with violating a protection from abuse order involving a Sept. 4 incident at 919 Chestnut St.

Persing is accused of texting Brooke Mulac, which violated a PFA order Mulac filed against him, police said.

Drug paraphernalia

MOUNT CARMEL - Dennis W. Hornberger Jr., 36, of 239 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with an Aug. 23 incident at Fifth and Market streets.

Police said Hornberger was found in possession of a needle.

Flees police

MOUNT CARMEL - Mitchell G. Neidig, 31, of Mahanoy City, was charged by Cpl. David Donkochik with recklessly endangering another person, fleeing or eluding police, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving at an unsafe speed and a learner's permit violation involving an Oct. 3 half-mile pursuit in the borough that started in the 400 block of East Fifth Street.

Police said Neidig refused to stop his motorcycle after traveling past police and other vehicles at a high rate of speed.

Multiple charges

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Kathleen R. Daniels, 49, of 534 W. Girard St., Atlas, was charged by Patrolman Daniel Politza with driving under the influence of alcohol, simple assault, harassment, two counts of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to an Aug. 20 disturbance at 122 E. Columbia Ave., Atlas.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Daniels is accused of grabbing her nephew, Robert Daniels II, by the neck with both hands and attacking him, forcing MaryAnn Daniels and Theresa Goguts to physically restrain the defendant. Police said Kathleen Daniels then shoved MaryAnn Daniels and Theresa Goguts out of the way and ran upstairs after Robert Daniels II in an attempt to continue her assault before police arrived.

Police said Kathleen Daniels, who was driving under the influence of alcohol before reaching 122 E. Columbia Ave., refused to submit to chemical testing.

Drug charges

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Robert A. Broadt, 43, of 302 E. Columbia Ave., Atlas, was charged by Patrolman Michael Pitcavage with possession of marijuana, possession of a small amount (8 grams) of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple assault, two counts of disorderly conduct and harassment involving a Sept. 20 disturbance at his home.

In addition to possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said Broadt is accused of hitting Cindy Berkoski in the head with a telephone, pushing her onto a couch and injuring her hip that required medical treatment at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Theft charges

KULPMONT - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property have been filed by Patrolman Michael Pitcavage against Robert C. Carl, 30, of 554 Chestnut St., rear apartment, Kulpmont.

Police said Carl allegedly stole a four-wheeler rack from the front porch of Stephanie Wagner, of 753 Chestnut St., Sept. 12.

Theft

MOUNT CARMEL - Lt. Christopher Buhay has charged Dustin M. Rogers, 18, of 38 N. Maple St., Apt. 3, Mount Carmel, with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing an MP3 player and headphone set from Robert Rath's daughter.

Police said the theft occurred Sept. 10 in the 400 block of East Avenue.

Theft offenses

KULPMONT - Nicholas C. Elliott, 20, of 1240 Poplar St., Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman Patrick McAndrew with theft and receiving stolen property relating to a May 1 incident at 907 Pine St.

Police said Elliott is accused of stealing a bicycle belonging to Randy Campbell's son.

Open lewdness

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush has charged Emily Ann Laskowski, 20, of 417 E. Spruce St., Mount Carmel, and Steven C. Cherry, 24, of 3 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, with open lewdness and disorderly conduct.

Police reported Laskowski and Cherry were observed by a witness engaging in sexual intercourse in an open grass lot behind a building in the 600 block of West Fifth Street.

DUI

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Gary A. Cook, 33, of 1013 N. Franklin St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Christopher Grow with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, failure to immediately report an accident and driving without insurance.

The charges relate to a June 7 accident at the intersection of Route 487 and Bottle Road in Elysburg.

Police said Cook had a blood-alcohol content of .152 percent.

Theft

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed by Cpl. Bryon Chowka against Samantha Scicchitano, 34, of 1002 W. Mulberry St., Coal Township.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Scicchitano is accused of stealing personal items belonging to four female employees at First Columbia Bank in Elysburg on Aug. 12. Police said Scicchitano stole the items from an employee's bathroom at the bank.

Bad checks

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Chief of Police Brian Hollenbush has charged Coleen M. Lowry, 21, of 465 Mountain Road, Shamokin, with two counts of issuing bad checks.

Police reported Lowry issued two bad checks totaling $454.50 to Zlocki Auto Body in Marion Heights on June 5 and June 19.

Marijuana offense

MOUNT CARMEL - Michelle M. Day, 24, of 22 E. Second St., Apt. 2, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Jason Drumheller with possession of a small amount (8 grams) of marijuana relating to a June 11 incident at Mount Carmel Police Station.

Simple assault

MOUNT CARMEL - Christine Ruiz, 37, of Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Dillman with simple assault and harassment for allegedly throwing a telephone at Patty Crotty that struck her in the chest, causing a rib contusion.

Ruiz also is accused of grabbing Crotty by the throat, pulling her hair and pushing her.

Police said the assault occurred Aug. 12 at 10 N. Orange St., where Ruiz lived at the time.

Driving under suspension

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - James E. Doak, 45, of 31 N. Locust St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Chief Brian Hollenbush with two counts of driving under suspension and failure to have a small child properly restrained in a vehicle.

The charges relate to a Sept. 20 incident in the 600 block of West Sixth Street.

Drug charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Mitchell E. Shields, 20, of 123 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia involving a Sept. 17 incident at his residence.

Police found two Spice containers labeled "Straight Code Black" belonging to Shields.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of driving under the influence of bath salts and driving without a license were filed by Patrolman William Adamski against Melissa E. Wolfgang, 29, of 207 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, in connection with an Aug. 23 incident at Fifth and Market streets.

Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed by Patrolman William Adamski against Linda Mary Lupatsky, 31, of 237 S. Beech St., Mount Carmel.

Police reported Lupatsky allegedly stole $2,068.19 from Top Star Express convenience store at Third and Maple streets between May 1 and July 9 while she was employed at the business. Police said Lupatsky made transactions, voided them and then took the cash.
