SHAMOKIN - Phyllis Reichenbach, 40, of 20 E. Lincoln St., Shamokin, was charged with theft by unlawful taking by city police Patrolman Shane Mowery after she allegedly took $50 from the counter at Puff's Discount Cigarette Outlet at 3:45 p.m. May 22. The money had been placed on the counter by Josh Fanella to purchase a carton of cigarettes, police said.
The charge was filed with Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, of Shamokin.
COAL TOWNSHIP - A house trailer and another home on Big Mountain Road were burglarized earlier this month, according to township police.
Patrolman Jason Adams says small appliances were stolen from the home between the evening of June 9 and the morning of June 15, while electronics were taken from the trailer between 6 p.m. June 12 and noon June 13.
Anyone with information on the incidents are asked to call police at 644-0333.

TREVORTON - A Winfield man suffered moderate injuries Monday in a one-vehicle crash along Route 225 in Little Mahanoy Township, about 1 1/2 miles southwest of Trevorton.
State police at Stonington said Paul A. Byers, 18, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 north about 7 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the north berm, causing it to flip and travel onto a lawn of a private residence near Sunshine Drive.
Byers was wearing a seat belt. He was taken by Trevorton Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
An investigation continues.
COAL TOWNSHIP - A black-and-white Chaos boy's bicycle valued at $100 was reported stolen June 16 from Melissa Brokenshire's property at 515 S. Ash St. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 644-0333.
