ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - Daniel S. Borges, 25, of 234 Church St., Sunbury was cited by state police at Stonington with public drunkenness after being found walking in the area of Route 61 near Klinger Road, in Rockefeller Township.
Police reported that Borges was allegedly under the influence of alcohol to a degree that placed him in danger. The citation was filed with Magisterial District Judge Benjamin Apfelbaum, of Sunbury.
Sobriety checkpoint scheduled
STONINGTON - During the month of March, State Troopers from the Stonington barracks will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint along a state or local highway in Northumberland County.
The checkpoint is part of a statewide DUI Checkpoint strike force initiative, and will involve briefly checking vehicles for operators who are impaired by alcohol and/or controlled substances.
