Clothing stolen

COAL TOWNSHIP - Marty Searls, 49, of 123 Meade St., reported to township police someone entered his vehicle and removed $624.50 worth of newly purchased clothing sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The clothing removed included Hollister shirts and a black Harley Davidson jacket.

One-car crash

COAL TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 5 on Route 901 at Lower Excelsior Road.

Township police report Alicia Lahr, 17, of Shamokin, was traveling west on Route 901 in a 2005 Saturn ION sedan, when she lost control of the vehicle and skidded across the roadway.

Police say Lahr's vehicle traveled across the east lane and onto the berm on the south side of the road before striking and traveling across a drainage culvert.

Lahr's vehicle sustained damage to the front end and undercarriage, but no one was injured and no fire department response was needed.

Theft from vehicle

COAL TOWNSHIP - Chad Brokenshire, 30, of Coal Run, reported to Coal Township Police someone entered his vehicle and stole cash and debit cards sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12:15 a.m. Thursday.

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington received a report from a 63-year-old female who said someone entered her home along Route 890 and removed personal items, including a laptop computer and jewelry, sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact state police at 286-5601.

Drug charges

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Foster U. Renn III, 23, of 1305 W. Montgomery St., Coal Township, has been charged by Patrolman Christopher Grow with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to a Dec. 28 incident at Glosser Motor Inn along Route 487 in Elysburg.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Renn delivered eight bags of heroin to a confidential informant for $150.

Renn was arraigned and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Drug offenses

MOUNT CARMEL - Daniel J. Shields, 19, of 123 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel, has been charged by Mount Carmel Chief of Police Todd Owens and Patrolman William Adamski with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver oxycodone hydrochloride, possession of marijuana and eight counts of possession of drug paraphernalia involving a Sept. 17 incident at his residence.

In addition to possessing the three drugs, Shields is accused of possessing a black metal grinder, black glass smoking pipe, multiple clear plastic zip bags, a multi-colored glass smoking pipe and a clear glass smoking device.

Shields was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Liquor law

SUNBURY - The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited Sunbury Steam Fire Engine Company at Center and Penn streets on Sept. 12 for failing to maintain complete and truthful records for two years pertaining to the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act. The fire company also was cited for sales to non-members.


MOUNT CARMEL - Dennis Lentini Jr., 43, of Kulpmont, was cited Sept. 18 by the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for harassment relating to a July 17 disturbance at West End Athletic Club, 301 N. Vine St.

Lentini, who is a club member and patron, is accused of repeatedly following a liquor control enforcement officer around the club and harassing her by asking numerous questions about her identity. Lentini also allegedly forced the officer to display her driver's license and threatened to run a background check on her through his job with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

The bureau said Lentini and other patrons followed the officer while she was leaving the club and told her they would check her vehicle for police items and also check her registration.

Burglary offenses

MOUNT CARMEL - Eric J. Ginck, 34, of 240 S. Beech St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Lt. Christopher Buhay with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at night.

Ginck is accused of stealing $7,611.94 worth of tools owned by Andrew Huber, of 337 S. Locust St., Mount Carmel. Police said the tools were stolen between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15 from 544 W. Second St., where Huber was performing renovations.

Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of theft and receiving stolen property were filed by Patrolman Jason Drumheller against David Matthew Brown, 29, of 236 S. Vine St., Mount Carmel.

Police reported Brown is accused of stealing a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun owned by Raymond Kornacki, of 29 N. Chestnut St., on Sept. 3.

Simple assault

RALPHO TOWNSHIP - Michelle L. Duttry, 42, of 102 Nottingham Drive, Elysburg, was charged by Cpl. Bryon Chowka with simple assault and harassment involving a Sept. 13 disturbance at her home.

Police reported Duttry grabbed her daughter Maranda Stine by the hair, hit her head against a refrigerator several times and pushed her into a kitchen table and chair before throwing her onto the floor. Stine suffered multiple injuries, police said.

Duttry was committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury after failing to post $20,000 bail.

Duttry waived her right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones and was ordered to appear for plea court Oct. 21 in Northumberland County Court, where she can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.


LOCUST GAP - Ronald R. Dimm III, 28, of 22 S. Fifth St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, speeding and careless driving involving a May 16 traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Route 901.

Police reported Dimm had alprazolam and oxycodone in his blood system.


ATLAS - Patrolman Matthew Filarski has charged Jason D. Pachutski, 29, of 137 Greco Lane, Mount Carmel, with driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, resisting arrest, failure to drive in a single lane, careless driving and failure to sign his registration card.

Police reported the charges relate to a July 10 accident between Laurel and Girard streets.

Police said Pachutski refused to undergo chemical testing to determine his blood alcohol content.
