COAL TOWNSHIP - Coal Township police have recovered a car battery charger, starter and tester. The owner of the items can claim them by contacting police at 570-644-0333.
COAL TOWNSHIP - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at Fir and Pine streets Jan. 14.
Patrolman Jason Adams reported Gary Sheriff, 75, of Coal Township, was driving a Chevrolet Impala south on Fir Street approaching Pine Street at 2:44 p.m. when his car was struck by a Ford Escape driven west on Pine Street by Doris Ginck, 65, of Paxinos.
Police said Sheriff, his wife, Nancy, 74, and Ginck escaped injury.
Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
Ginck was cited by Adams for failing to make sure the intersection was clear before proceeding through a stop sign.
COAL TOWNSHIP - Mark Shingara, of 323 Center St., Tharptown, was cited by Code Enforcement Officer Chris Petrovich for accumulating construction debris at the rear of his property at 232 Center St.
Propane tank stolen
PAXINOS - State police at Stonington reported someone stole a 20-pound propane tank from a shed at the PennDOT stock pile on Bottle Road between Jan. 11 and Jan. 15.
SNYDERTOWN - Authorities are searching for a 15-year-old Snydertown boy who reportedly ran away from home at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday and hasn't been seen by family members since then.
State police at Stonington identified the runaway as Damon Michael Magnuson, of 95 S. Main St.
Anyone with information about the teen's whereabouts should contact state police at 570-286-5601.
COAL TOWNSHIP - Carrie Feudale, 23, of Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Chad Yoder for retail theft for allegedly placing a 40-pound bag of wood pellets in her vehicle at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday and driving away from Jones Home Center, Route 61, without paying for the $5.99 item.
KULPMONT - Charles A. Derr, 37, of 145 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Joshua Pastucka with three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, a red light violation and restrictions on alcoholic beverages relating to a Sept. 28 traffic stop in the 500 block of Chestnut Street.
Police reported Derr had a blood-alcohol content of .157 percent.
MOUNT CARMEL - Patrolman Kevin Katch has charged Robert Gilberthorpe, 34, of 337 E. Center St., Mount Carmel, with violating a protection from abuse order.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones, Gilberthorpe is accused of sending Ashley Campbell an email between Oct. 15 and Nov. 10 at 137 W. Fourth St. that violated the PFA order Campbell filed against him.
MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Michael B. Laskowski, 36, of 926 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Kelly Campbell with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property involving a Dec. 24 burglary at 333 E. Warsaw St., Marion Heights.
Police said Laskowski allegedly stole various items from the home of Jonathan and Josephine Stroh that included picture frames, a Targus port station, Clarionmind GPS, Powerease blind remote control, baseball cards in a white cardboard box and a silver Mother of Pearl Lia Sophia ring.
MOUNT CARMEL - Heather L. Breeland, 28, of 424 E. Columbia Ave., Atlas, who was charged by Lt. Chris Buhay with two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment, disorderly conduct and criminal conspiracy relating to a Dec. 13 disturbance at the Silver Spur Bar, 251 S. Oak St., had all the offenses withdrawn Wednesday by the district attorney's office.
Police said Breeland and Tina Marie Green, 45, of 423 N. Maple St., Mount Carmel, assaulted Gloria Holmes.
Green, who was charged with the same offenses by Buhay, pleaded guilty Wednesday to harassment and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to pay a fine and costs totaling $305.50. The remaining charges were withdrawn.
