Retail theft
SELINSGROVE - State police at Selinsgrove has charged Claudia Antoia-Moreno, 33, and Maria Encarnacion Telepale-Amantecatt, 49, both of Sunbury, with retail theft relating to an incident at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Wal-Mart along Routes 11-15.
After being apprehended by store security, the suspects were taken to the state police station at Selinsgrove for processing, where it was learned both individuals were illegal aliens. They were then turned over to an agent with U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement.
Theft by deception
SELINSGROVE - Eugene Houseknecht, 22, of Washingtonville, and Mary C. Long, 19, of Dalmatia, were charged by state police at Selinsgrove with theft by deception relating to an Aug. 23 incident at the Strawberry Clothing Store along Routes 11-15.
Police said the suspects are accused of attempting to remove merchandise from the store and returning it for store credit.
Resisting arrest
KULPMONT - Harold W. Smith Jr., 48, of Harrisburg, was charged by state police at Stonington with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, loitering at night and public drunkenness involving a disturbance Saturday at 915 Spruce St.
Police said Smith, who was found on the back porch of 915 Spruce St. in a highly intoxicated state, was yelling obscenities at residents and refused to cooperate with commands to stop his behavior before being taken into custody.
Harassment
SHAMOKIN - Jack LaRizzio, 43, of 936 W. Spruce St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Shane Mowery with harassment for allegedly sending numerous text messages to Tyanna Menne, of 804 N. Washington St., Apt. 2, Shamokin, between Thursday night and Friday morning.
During one of the messages, LaRizzio said he was going to stab Menne in the neck, police said.
LaRizzio was arraigned at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and released on $10,000 bail.
Retail theft
SHAMOKIN - Cpl. Bryan Primerano has charged Harry L. Wheary III, of 169 N. Grant St., Shamokin, with retail theft, criminal conspiracy and corruption of minors relating to the theft of $98.44 worth of razor blades from Weis Markets at about 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Primerano also cited a 16-year-old Hummelstown girl for retail theft in connection with the same incident.
Simple assault
SHAMOKIN - Kayla Wehry, 23, of 256 S. Pearl St., Shamokin; Frances Conroy, 35, of 399 S. Harrison St., Shamokin, and Jennifer Davis, 30, of Duncansville, were charged by city police with simple assault and disorderly conduct involving a fight early Saturday morning in front of Conroy's home.
Wehry and Davis are accused of assaulting Conroy and Conroy is charged with assaulting Wehry and Jennifer Davis just after midnight.
Patrolmen Nathan Rhodes and Shane Mowery and Cpl. John Brown filed the charges.
Criminal mischief
SHAMOKIN - Cpl. John Brown has charged Kyle L. Gray, 25, of 494 W. Saylor St., Atlas, with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness relating to a disturbance at about 4 a.m. Sunday at Raspberry Hill.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Gray is accused of smashing the glass out of two doors at 55 Raspberry Hill and causing a disturbance inside, and then banging on the door at 8 Raspberry Hill until the victim called police.
Gray suffered a laceration on his right wrist that required medical treatment.
