Curfew violation

SHAMOKIN - A 16-year-old North Franklin Street girl was cited for curfew violation, according to Shamokin Police Department. The incident occurred at 3:07 a.m. Aug. 29. The girl is reportedly on probation.

Burglary

CLEVELAND TOWNSHIP - The Locust Township Police Department is investigating a burglary, which occurred at 202 Ashton Hollow Road between Aug. 15 and Aug. 22. An unknown person entered the residence and removed 50 state quarters, a jar of old coins, $300 and 44 $2 bills. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 799-5806 or crimetips@locustpd.com.

Theft

MOUNT CARMEL - Brandon M. Bucher, 22, Of 244 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, waived to court Friday two felonies of theft and receiving stolen property and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones to appear for arraignment today at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury. He was placed in prison on $100,000 bail.

Bucher was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Jason Drumheller and Chief Brian Shurock with taking a Union National Bank money bag containing $8,200.55 in cash and multiple uncashed checks in the amount of $8,760.79

At his arraignment, Bucher can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
