Burglary

LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Brian and Michelle Woodruff, of Boyles Run Road, Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday someone entered their home. When the couple returned home the next day, they found a piece of furniture lodged against the main entrance door.

No damage was discovered and no loss was reported.

Vehicle theft

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - The investigation continues into the removal of a Shamokin man's pickup truck from the Nikomahs campground on Wolverton Road in Upper Augusta Township.

State police at Stonington said that someone gained access to a 1978 Chevrolet Scottsdale truck, owned by John May, of North Franklin Street, Shamokin, sometime between 11 a.m. Aug. 15 and 1 p.m. Wednesday and drove the pickup away. At some point, the driver struck something, causing damage, and returned the truck to its original location.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call state police at 286-5601.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Denise Hogan, 47, of 414 N. Rock St., Shamokin, was cited for disorderly conduct by Shamokin City Police Patrolman Scott C. Weaver after she yelled and swore at a police officer and refused to be quiet and go back into her home.

The incident occurred at 10:43 p.m. Thursday outside her residence.

Theft

EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - George Kerstetter, 34, of 5636 Lower Road, Shamokin, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday someone removed a metal and plastic mailbox, shaped like a largemouth bass, from a wooden post at the end of his driveway. The mailbox is valued at $106.

Criminal mischief

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Dan and Lois Duttinger, of 1080 Woodland Dr., Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that at 7 p.m. Sunday someone fired a projectile into a picture window in their residence, causing it to shatter. The damage is estimated at $500.

Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Christine M. Campbell, 41, of 109 S. Market St., Shamokin, was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident at 531 N. Market St., Shamokin at 7:20 p.m. Thursday,

Shamokin City Police Patrolman Bryan Primerano cited Campbell after she allegedly left the air out of the tires of a vehicle owned by Kelly Wolfe, after a report from three other witnesses.

DUI checkpoints

POTTSVILLE - The North Central Highway Safety Network's Regional DUI Enforcement Group and the Coal Township Police Department have announced roving patrols or sobriety checkpoints will be conducted from Friday to Sept. 4 on Routes 61, 225, 125, 54, 487 and 901, or other connecting roadways to municipalities. Travelers are reminded to report drunk drivers by dialing 911. To report underage drinking, call 1-888-under-21.

The roving patrols and checkpoints are funded through the PennDOT and the National Highway Safety Administration.
