2 injured in crash

POINT TOWMSHIP - A Sunbury man is listed in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Route 11 and Redman Acres Road.

Point Township Police report a Toyota Corolla, driven by Mark A. Hagy, 56, of 406 Fairmount Ave., Sunbury, was traveling south on Route 111 when the Corolla crossed into the north lane of Route 11 and sideswiped a Dodge Dakota pickup truck, driven by Skyler Ashley, 27, of 1016 Edison Ave., Sunbury.

Emergency crews had to extricate Hagy from the vehicle. He was later transported to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was listed in critical condition. Ashley was taken to by private vehicle to Sunbury Community Hospital for treatment.

Route 11 was closed in both directions while Point Township Police conducted their investigation.

Assisting police at the scene were Point Township Fire Department and fire police, Northumberland Fire Departments, AREA Services, Life Flight helicopter, Ralpho Township Police Department and PennDOT, who assisted in detouring traffic off of Route 11 and onto Spruce Hollow Road to Ridge Road.

Target theft

LOWER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Terry Latsha, of Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between July 30 and Aug. 14 someone removed a warthog and a deer archery target from his field/archery range, located on Arrowhead Road. The targets are valued at $390. Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call state police at 286-5601.
