Public drunkenness
SHAMOKIN - Matthew Rieder, 34, of 325 N. Shamokin St., Apartment 1B, Shamokin, was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct for an incident on Aug. 17, according to Shamokin Police Department.
Police reported that Rieder was found to be under the influence of alcohol in the 400 block of Shamokin Street at 4:32 Tuesday morning and was making unreasonable noise as he pounded on the door of his friend's apartment in the same complex.
2 hurt in two-car accident
LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on State Highway 225 Monday evening, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Todd J. Leiby reported that a 17-year-old Herndon male driving a 1994 Cadillac Deville turned left to enter a parking lot near the entrance to the Line Mountain High School and drove into the path of Roy R. Dunning Jr., 65, of Herndon, at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16.
Dunning's vehicle, a 2000 Ford Escort, hit the right side of the Cadillac. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. Dunning was minorly injured.
Dunning's passenger, Sandra K. Dunning, 65, of Herndon, was transported by ambulance for an injury of unknown severity. She was also wearing her seatbelt.
The teen will be cited for failing to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, said police.
