Harassment
MOUNT CARMEL - Paul A. Barilla, 46, of 319 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, was cited for harassment by Patrolman Dave Donkochik after allegedly choking his girlfriend, Charla Bensigner, during a domestic dispute at his residence at approximately 6 p.m. Jan. 8.
Drug charges
SHAMOKIN - Patrick Henz, 29, of 121 W. Montgomery St., Shamokin, was arraigned at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of Xanax, possession of a small amount of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy.
Henz was charged by Cpl. John Brown in connection with a Nov. 21 incident in the parking lot at Weis Markets.
Police said Henz possessed marijuana packaged for sale, eight Xanax pills in a plastic wrapper, cocaine, several pipes and a large bong, and conspired with others to possess and deliver the controlled substances.
One-car crash
RUSH TOWNSHIP - A Danvile woman suffered an injury following a one-vehicle crash on Route 54 near Hower Road at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday.
State police at Stonington report a 1997 Ford Escort, driven by Andrea N. Deitz, 21, of Danville, was traveling west on Route 54 in the area of "The Narrows" when Deitz left the roadway and grazed a guard rail. The Escort then traveled across the east lane of Route 54 and struck an embankment.
Deitz suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was taken to Geisinger Medical Center for treatment. Police said she would be cited for failure to drive on roadways laned for traffic.
Burglary charges
SHAMOKIN - Patrolman William Miner has charged Jeffrey R. Adams Jr., 20, of Shamokin, with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property in connection with a Nov. 11 incident at 115 N. Second St.
Police reported Adams entered the residence of Thomas McDonald and Stella Sheasley at 5 a.m. and stole six bottles of prescription medicine including ratidine, loretadine, seraquil, bopinrole, amitriptyline and hydrocodone.
Adams was arraigned at 11 a.m. Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $25,000 bail.
One-car crash
THARPTOWN - Joann E. Procopio, 69, of 932 Pine St., Kulpmont, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of Route 61 and Hospital Road.
Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky said Procopio was driving south on Route 61 at 12:30 p.m. when she was unable to stop her vehicle at a red light. Police said Procopio's vehicle veered off the right side of the highway and traveled along an embankment before coming to a stop.
The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
Procopio was transported to Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, where she underwent emergency room treatment before being released.
Procopio was cited for careless driving.
Public drunkenness
SHAMOKIN - Mark E. Lowry, 25, of 1345 W. Walnut St., Coal Township, was cited by Cpl. Bryan Primerano for public drunkenness involving an incident at 2:14 a.m. Saturday at Dunkin' Donuts at Sunbury and Market streets.
Police reported Lowry, who needed assistance to walk, annoyed two patrons at the business and refused to adhere to police commands. He was released to the custody of his sister.
Harassment
SHAMOKIN - Daniel W. Phelps Jr., 26, of 912 E. Commerce St., Shamokin, was cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for harassment for allegedly punching Josh Brosious, 18, of 75 Center St., Tharptown, at Phelps' residence shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday.
Two cited
SHAMOKIN - Lori Moore, 49, of 714 N. Cherry St., Shamokin, and Christopher Ditzel, 28, of Danielsville, were cited by Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for harassment relating to a disturbance at 7:10 p.m. Friday at 709 N. Cherry St.
Moore is accused of smashing a cardboard box into Ditzel's face. Ditzel is accused of shoving Moore in a violent manner.
DUI
SHAMOKIN - Matthew S. Hunter, 31, of 1256 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Scott Weaver with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road and careless driving.
The charges relate to a Jan. 7 vehicle stop at Lincoln and Liberty streets.
Police said Hunter had a blood-alcohol content of .139 percent.
Stalking
SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Raymond Siko II has charged Peter Rebuck Jr., 38, of 170 E. Dewart St., Apt. 206, with two counts of stalking, indecent assault, two counts of harassment and disorderly conduct relating to a Jan. 30 incident at a home on West Walnut Street.
According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Rebuck is accused of stalking a woman, grabbing the victim in an indecent manner and making a lewd gesture at the victim's residence.
Drug charges
SHAMOKIN - Mark A. Getz Jr., 18, of 200 S. Coal St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to an incident that occurred in the 100 block of South Coal Street shortly after 5 p.m. Sunday.
