Falsification

COAL TOWNSHIP - A 15-year-old Coal Township girl has been charged by Patrolman Christopher Lapotsky with unsworn falsification to authorities.

Police reported the teen made a false allegation on Feb. 5 that a student had inappropriate contact with her on a school bus.

Theft

EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP - Frank Leroy Schickley, 38, of 14 N. Market St. Apt. 3, Shamokin, was charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and two counts of receiving stolen property by state police at Stonington after two incidents where he's accused of stealing $1,480 from an acquaintance.

According to police, Schickley stole $1,200 of Ryan Lee Ramsay's money from a dresser at his residence at 6800 Upper Road some time between Aug. 6 and Aug. 14.

According to police, Schickley also stole $280 from a dresser at 5304 Upper Road some time between Aug. 10 and Aug. 17. The resident, Tania Ann Kerstetter, Ryan Ramsay's sister, said she was holding onto the money for her brother.

Schickley's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 3 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.

Criminal conspiracy

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Jeffrey Michael Loatman, 19, of 543 Main St., Ranshaw, and Raheem Loatman, of 13 N. Third St., Millville, N.J., were charged with one count each of criminal conspiracy, prohibited acts of manufacturing or delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver marijuana; prohibited acts of possessing a controlled substance of marijuana; prohibited acts of manufacturing, selling, delivering, holding, offering or possession of a controlled substance adulterated or misbranded with acetaminophen, butalbital, caffeine or codeine tables, and prohibited acts of using, or possessing with intent to use, drug paraphernalia by agents of the Northumberland-Montour County Drug Task Force after an incident Saturday.

According to police, the car Jeffrey and Raheem Loatman were riding in was pulled over for having a loud exhaust and a broken driver's side mirror. It was discovered that Jeffrey Loatman had a bench warrant from Northumberland County. A search of the car revealed two bags of marijuana and a bag of pills, identified as acetaminophen/butalbital/caffeine/codeine and skelaxin.

Their preliminary hearing is slated for March 3 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.

DUI

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Joseph Anthony Boyer, 48, of 1352 Poplar St., Kulpmont, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, and single counts each of driving on roadways laned for traffic and careless driving by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman David Stamets after an incident Jan. 24.

Boyer was witnessed driving erratically by Stamets, who pulled him over. Boyer failed field sobriety tests, and toxicology results came back with a blood alcohol concentration of .226 percent.

Boyer's preliminary hearing is slated for March 24 before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.
