Disorderly conduct

SHAMOKIN - Ada H. Wimberly, 37, of 79 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin, was arraigned Tuesday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Patrolman Jarrod Scandle, Wimberly is accused of causing a disturbance inside and outside Shamokin Housing Authority at 1 E. Independence St. between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police said Wimberly yelled and used profanity after becoming upset over her vehicle being towed from the Raspberry Hill Housing Complex due to a lack of proof of insurance.

She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Hit and run

SHAMOKIN - Patrolman Shane Mowery has charged Christopher Stank, 38, of 1748 W. Chestnut St., Coal Township, with hit and run and a stop sign violation relating to a Jan. 3 accident at Second and Water streets.

Police reported Stank was driving a Jeep that struck a car operated by Christine Wills at 3:10 p.m. before fleeing the scene.

Theft charge

COAL TOWNSHIP - Beverly E. Rosenberger, 32, of 256 S. Pearl St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police reported Rosenberger is accused of making several fraudulent returns of merchandise for cash totaling $129.74 from Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 between Jan. 8 and Jan. 16.


COAL TOWNSHIP - Daniel D. Strenkoski, 51, of 100 S. First St., Coal Township, was charged by Patrolman Joshua Wynn with driving under the influence of alcohol relating to a Feb. 7 incident at First and Spruce streets.

Police said Strenkoski refused to a submit to a blood test.


SHAMOKIN - Brad A. Ruhl, 38, of Selinsgrove, was charged by Patrolman William Zalinski with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police reported Ruhl reportedly stole a debit card owned by Sharon Miller and used the card to purchase $121.84 worth of merchandise at various city businesses between Jan. 26 and Feb. 3.

Drug offenses

SHAMOKIN - Curtis L. Shaffer, 41, of Box 834, Coal Township RR 1, was charged by Cpl. John Brown with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver marijuana, criminal conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police reported Shaffer conspired with another person to manufacture and possess with intent to deliver 11 marijuana plants, and possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Dec. 22 at 109 S. Market St.

Phone stolen

MONROE TOWNSHIP - Osvaldo Figueroa-Martinez, 25, of Liverpool, will be charged by state police at Selinsgrove with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief involving the Feb. 9 theft of a white Apple 4G iPhone with a clear plastic cover valued at $200 owned by Michael John Sokalzuk, 18, of Sunbury.

Police said the phone, which was found in the possession of the accused, was stolen from Wal-Mart along Routes 11-15 in Monroe Township.

Stolen faceplate

TREVORTON - Zerbe Township Police continue to investigate a theft from an unlocked vehicle between Friday and Tuesday on Railroad Street.

Police say sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and Tuesday morning, an unknown person entered the vehicle of Alex Helterbran, 59, of 530 Railroad St., and removed the faceplate from his car stereo system. The stereo is valued between $200 and $300.
