One vehicle crash

TREVORTON - One person suffered a minor injury in a crash at 3:16 a.m. Monday on State Route 2044 at the intersection with Academy Street in Zerbe Township.

State police at Stonington report that a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Thomas J. Wolfe, 52, of Trevorton, was traveling east on Route 2044 and attempting to negotiate a turn to the left when he lost traction with the roadway and traveled off the road to the right. The Cobalt struck a tree with the front bumper and came to a final rest facing east off the road.

Wolfe suffered a minor injury and was taken to Geisinger Medical Center for treatment. Assisting police at the scene was Trooper Angela Jankoviak and Trevorton Fire and EMS

Tire issue resolved

COAL TOWNSHIP - Township police report that the tire issue at the Bunker Hill Field Complex has been resolved.

Officers were dispatched on Monday for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area, owned by Krape Construction of Jersey Shore. The workers told police that they had been sub-contracted by another organization to clean up the garbage from the Bunker Hill Complex.

The employees also said that the large pile of tires near the entrance of the facility had also been put there by them and were awaiting a tri-axle truck to come from another worksite to clean them up along with all the other debris collected.
