One-vehicle crash
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - State police continue to investigate a crash involving a utility pole at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday on Route 487 in Shamokin Township.
Police report that a vehicle was traveling north on Route 487 when it traveled off the road to the right and struck a utility pole. The vehicle then departed the scene. Anyone with information relative to this investigation is asked to contact state police at 286-5601.
Retail theft
SHAMOKIN - Andrew Bendas, 72, of 536 N. Second St., Shamokin, was cited by Shamokin City Police Patrolman First Class Scott C. Weaver for retail theft following an incident at Weis Markets at 5:12 p.m. Dec. 28. Weaver reported that Bendas allegedly concealed a package of Aleve Gels, valued at $14.29, and didn't pay for them at the register.
Wheel theft
UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - Robert Gilligbauer, 44, of Route 61, Sunbury, reported to state police at Stonington that sometime between 1:30 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday, someone removed four 15-inch aluminum wheels and tires from a 2000 Saturn S-Series, which was parked at his scrap yard along Route 61, just south of Oaklyn. The wheels are valued at $200.
Retail theft
SUNBURY - Elizabeth Daubert, 26, of 340 Honey Locust Lane, Northumberland, was cited for retail theft following an incident at 11:55 a.m. Monday at the MediCap Pharmacy on North Fourth Street in Sunbury. Police say that Daubert removed several items from the business without paying for them. The total value of the items taken was $5.29.
Ordinance violated
SHAMOKIN - Donald E. Hill, 62, of 547 N. Sixth Street, Shamokin, was cited by Shamokin City Police Chief John J. Brown for violating the city's ordinance on trailers parked on city streets. According to the ordinance, trailers and RVs are not allowed on city streets between Nov. 1 and April 15. Brown cited Hill two times, at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday.
