Buggy struck

WATSONTOWN - State police continue to investigate a hit-and-run crash that injured four occupants of a horse and buggy at 7:39 p.m. Sunday on Route 54 north of here in Delaware Township.

State police at Milton report that a horse and buggy, driven by Levi Glick, 27, of Delaware Township, was traveling east on Route 54 when an older-model van started following them. For an unknown reason, the van failed to see the buggy and struck it in the left rear, causing the buggy to travel off the right side of the road, where it came to rest on its right side. The van fled the scene east on Route 54.

Glick and his passenger, Mattie Glick, 24 and two children, girls aged 4 and 2 years old, were injured. The adults and the 2-year-old suffered minor injuries. The 4-year-old had moderate injuries. They were all transported to Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, for treatment.

Assisting police were Warrior Run Area fire and ambulance crews.

On Sunday, police issued a description of the van, which they said is believed to be a white, older-model, possibly a minivan, and would have minor to moderate damage to the front passenger side in the area of the headlight. It was last seen traveling east on Route 54 toward Turbotville.

Police reported Monday afternoon that the driver of the van had been identified, and that the name will be released upon further investigation and filing of charges.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Milton at 524-2662.
