Multiple offenses
MOUNT CARMEL - Gary Michael Sabo, 40, of 112 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Patrolman Kevin Katch with one count each of manufacturing, delivery, possession with intent to deliver, indecent exposure, open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an incident at 2:17 a.m. Oct. 27.
According to police, Sabo tried to sell Lorazopan to a group of people in the 00 block of North Oak Street, failed, and began urinating on a tree. Witnesses said his genitals were visible while he was urinating.
Underage drinking
MOUNT CARMEL - James Mowery III, 19, of Shamokin, was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police with underage drinking after an incident at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 12.
Mowery was seen walking north on Beech Street after police responded to a call for an underage party on South Beech Street. Before police could stop him, he tried to hide something behind a parked vehicle, according to officials. Police confronted Spickler, who admitted to drinking and trying to hide a partial case of beer.
Accident
COAL TOWNSHIP - A township woman escaped injury after crashing on icy roads Dec. 13.
Coal Township Police said Donna Hynes, 61, was headed south on Route 61 near Auto Zone when she lost control of her 1996 Chevrolet due to road conditions. The Chevy struck the center barrier, police said, causing minor damage to the driver's side front fender. Haynes was uninjured.
Route 225 crash
COAL TOWNSHIP - Winter conditions contributed to an accident Dec. 13 on Route 225 near Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township Police said.
Karen Zombro, 44, of Sunbury, was driving her 1999 Pontiac north on 225 when she lost control of her vehicle on the icy road, police said. The Pontiac hit the embankment on the driver's side, where it came to rest.
Zombro was uninjured, and her vehicle sustained minor damage.
Hits utility box
COAL TOWNSHIP - A township man slid through the intersection of Sherman and Tioga streets Dec. 13 after losing control of his 1995 GMC on icy roads.
Charles Derr, 55, was headed north on Sherman Street when his GMC slid across Tioga Street and slammed into a Verizon utility box, Coal Township Police said.
There was minor damage to the utility box and Derr's vehicle.
Vehicles collide
EXCELSIOR - A tractor-trailer and a van collided Dec. 13 on Route 901 due to wintry conditions, according to Coal Township Police.
Brian Toner, 41, of Delaware, was driving a 2007 Kenworth tractor-trailer west when he lost control on the icy road surface. The trailer crossed the center line, where it struck a 1997 Dodge van driven east by Gary Snyder, 51, of Lavelle.
Snyder's van sustained moderate damage.
Flipped van
COAL TOWNSHIP - An Elysburg man was injured after flipping his van on Dec. 13, Coal Township Police said.
Robert Sheesley, 62, was driving his 1998 Ford van north on Route 225 when he lost control on the icy road. The van struck a mail box before slamming into the embankment in front of 1072 Trevorton Road. The van flipped onto the driver's side and roof before coming to rest on its tires.
The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene by Tire Ranch.
Sheesley sustained a minor injury in the accident. There was also property damage at 1072 Trevorton Road.
Slides into ditch
BURNSIDE - Debra Bainbridge, 47, was driving a 2000 Ford truck north on Route 125 Dec. 13, when she lost control due to icy conditions, according to Coal Township Police.
The vehicle slid into a ditch and flipper over, causing moderate damage, police said. Bainbridge was uninjured. A passenger, Thomas Hawk, 45, of Coal Township, also escaped injury.
Hit-and-run
COAL TOWNSHIP - A hit-and-run accident happened in the parking lot of Scot's Lo Cost Dec. 13, according to Coal Township Police.
William Smith, 41, of Kulpmont, told police he parked his Pacifica in the lot, and when he returned approximately 25 minutes later, someone had struck the front bumper, damaging it.
Retail theft
MOUNT CARMEL - Marie D. Carl, 38, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski, of Mount Carmel Borough Police, with one count each of theft by unlawful taking of moveable property and receiving stolen property after an incident Sept. 5 at Varano Warehouse, 400 S. Oak St.
According to police, Carl admitted to stealing two cases of hot dogs while buying two cases of iced tea and beef jerky.
Theft of services
MOUNT CARMEL - Jason David Hunsinger, 30, of 838 Broad St., Bloomsburg, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski, of Mount Carmel Borough Police, with one count of theft of services after an incident Oct. 18.
Hunsinger admitted to putting garbage bags in the Dumpster of L&J Auto, according to police.
Stolen property
MOUNT CARMEL - Doyle Wesley Pease, 40, of RR3, Excelsior, and Clayton D. Carl, 43, of RR Box 387, Excelsior, were charged by Patrolman William Adamski, of Mount Carmel Borough Police, with one count each of receiving stolen goods after an incident Sept. 5 at Varano Warehouse, 400 S. Oak St.
According to police, Pease and Carl admitted to receiving hot dogs they knew had been stolen from Varano Warehouse.
DUI
STRONG - Raymond Charles Long, 61, of 142 E. Lincoln St., Apt. No. R-3, Shamokin, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Patrolman Kelly Campbell with two counts of driving under the influence and one count of general lighting requirements after a routine traffic stop at 12:38 a.m. Nov. 22.
Blood tests showed that Long's blood alcohol concentration was 0.149, according to police.
