Theft
RANSHAW - Jeff McCormick, 52, of Lott Street, told Coal Township Police that several CDs, audio cassettes and a Sony stereo remote were stolen from his vehicle Thursday while it was parked near his residence.
The items were valued at approximately $350.
Theft II
THARPTOWN - Mike Slodysko, 51, of Center Street, told Coal Township Police that someone stole a silver Apple iPod Nano from his vehicle sometime between 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.
The iPod is valued at $150.
Burglary
DALMATIA - A local market was broken into and burglarized sometime between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 6:45 a.m. Friday, according to state police at Stonington.
Police said someone broke a glass window and cut several locks at Brosius Market, 152 Water St., and stole money, cigarettes, chewing tobacco and other miscellaneous items. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at Stonington, 286-5601.
Retail theft
MOUNT CARMEL - Casey Sue Kern, 22, of 137 W. Third St., Mount Carmel, was charged with one count of retail theft by Mount Carmel Borough Police Sgt. Todd Owens after an incident at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Dollar General Store, 130 E. Fifth St.
Kern allegedly took several items from the store without paying and was stopped by store staff. The items totaled $27.50.
Theft from vehicle
MOUNT CARMEL - Mount Carmel Borough Police Officer Jason Drumheller charged a 15-year-old male with theft from a motor vehicle following an incident on Nov. 17 in the 00 block of South Plum Street.
The owner of the car told police that someone broke into her car and stole $675 in cash, checks that were birthday presents for her son, credit cards and birthday cards.
After police investigated, the 15-year-old male confessed. Charges were filed through Juvenile Court Services in Sunbury.
