Truck hits pole

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - State police are continuing their investigation into an accident involving a truck hitting a pole along Middle Road late Saturday night in this Northumberland County township.

Police reported William G. Land IV, 42, of Herndon, was driving a 1994 Ford F-150 truck west shortly before 10 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole. Land, who escaped injury, then fled the scene onto a dirt road off Otto Station Road, but was later found in his residence.

Rims, tires stolen

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - State police at Stonington reported someone stole four aluminum rims and tires from a Chevy Lumina owned by Robert Gilligbauer, of State Route 61, Sunbury, that was parked at Auto Parts Depot along Route 61.

The rims, which are valued at $200, were stolen between noon and midnight Tuesday.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call state police at 286-5601.

1-vehicle crash SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - A Winfield woman escaped injury after losing control of her car on Route 61 just south of Holly Road Saturday, according to state police at Stonington. Dahnya N. Heim, 32, was heading north on Route 61 around 4:44 p.m.
