Drug charges

SHAMOKIN - Robert E. Reichwein, 25, of 239 W. Willow St., Shamokin, and Jared M. Zarkowski, 27, of 432 Webster St., Ranshaw, have been charged by Trooper Scott Davis of state police at Milton with drug offenses involving an Aug. 20 incident in the 300 block of South Shamokin Street.

Zarkowski was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Reichwein was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harassment

SHAMOKIN - Richard A. Nahodil Jr., 21, of 828 Tharp St., Tharptown, was cited by Patrolman Mark Costa for harassment and disorderly conduct involving a disturbance at 3:20 a.m. Sunday at the Shamokin Moose.

Police reported Nahodil is accused of striking Raymond Reeder, 44, of 1005 E. Race St., Coal Township, in the face, causing bruising and swelling near his eye.

False identification

SHAMOKIN - Naim Frazier, 21, of Newark, N.J., who claims he is a member of a street gang known as the "Bloods" in New Jersey, was charged with providing police with false identification, making false reports to police and unsworn falsification to police relating to a disturbance at 77 Raspberry Hill shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Police responded to 77 Raspberry Hill for a disturbance between Frazier and Mellisa Ward, who is the mother of his child.

Upon further investigation, Frazier provided police with a false name and date of birth and later told them he was wanted on a warrant in New Jersey, where he had been previously charged with drug offenses. Frazier told police he was visiting Ward in Shamokin and came to the city to get away from the "Bloods" street gang in Newark, N.J. Frazier claimed he was not recruiting gang members.

Frazier was arraigned at 11:10 p.m. Monday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

Criminal mischief

THARPTOWN - Anna Mensch, 25, of Shamokin, reported someone damaged her 1996 Oldsmobile 98 between 3 p.m. Thursday and 9 p.m. Friday while it was parked along Route 61 near the entrance to Tharptown.

Police said a vandal smashed the rear glass on the vehicle and wrote "Happy Halloween" on the trunk lid in black Magic Marker. Police said the vehicle also was egged.

Anyone with information about incident is urged to call Coal Township police at 644-0333.

Hood scratched

COAL TOWNSHIP - Amy Mudry, 30, of Coal Township, reported someone scratched the hood of her vehicle while it was parked on Arch Street between Saturday and Sunday.

1-vehicle crash SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - A Winfield woman escaped injury after losing control of her car on Route 61 just south of Holly Road Saturday, according to state police at Stonington. Dahnya N. Heim, 32, was heading north on Route 61 around 4:44 p.m.
