Domestic assault
SUNBURY - Jeremy Bingaman, 28, of 246 N. Front St., Sunbury, has been charged by Cpl. Christopher Blase with two counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person and one count of endangering the welfare of children relating to a domestic disturbance at 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Bingaman's estranged wife, Julee Bingaman, 21, of 251 Pine St., Sunbury, told police Jeremy Bingaman came to her home and was upset about their recent break-up. While Julee Bingaman was sitting on a recliner holding a 2-year-old boy from Sunbury, Jeremy Bingaman began to punch her in the face and head, police said. The victim pulled her legs on the recliner and attempted to shield herself and the child from the punches.
Police said the accused then started to leave the residence before the victim told him she was going to call the police. At this point, Jeremy Bingaman turned around and kicked the door back into the residence and punched the victim in the face again while she was holding the child. The accused then pushed Julee Bingaman and the child through a glass table, causing it to shatter around them. Bingaman and the child fell into the shattered glass.
Jeremy Bingaman then fled the scene, but was located at his residence and taken into custody on a state parole violation and committed to Northumberland County Prison in Sunbury.
