Fatal ATV crash

SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP - A Saint Clair man was killed in an ATV accident at 1:10 a.m. Saturday morning on Moss Glen Road near Route 209 in Schuylkill Township.

State police at Frackville reported that Jason Liddick, 26, of Saint Clair, was pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner John Harley Sr. Police report that Liddick was traveling south on Moss Glen Road on a Honda 400EX all-terrain vehicle when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway. The ATV exited the east berm and struck a tree head-on.

Police were assisted at the scene by Tamaqua EMS, Ryan Township Fire, Mary D. Fire, Schuylkill Township Fire and Hopes Towing.

One vehicle crash

UPPER AUGUSTA TOWNSHIP - No one was injured in a one vehicle crash at 6:25 a.m. Friday on Snydertown Road near T-700 in Upper Augusta Township.

State police at Stonington reported that a 2006 Acura TL, driven by Martin A. Taylor, 60, of Harrisburg, was traveling north on Snydertown Road, negotiating a curve, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment. Taylor was not injured, but the Acura suffered moderate front end damage.

Police said that Taylor would be cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

1-vehicle crash SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - A Winfield woman escaped injury after losing control of her car on Route 61 just south of Holly Road Saturday, according to state police at Stonington. Dahnya N. Heim, 32, was heading north on Route 61 around 4:44 p.m.
