Sexual abuse
RUSH TOWNSHIP - Multiple charges were filed against a 40-year-old Tower City man for the sexual abuse of a juvenile girl during a time span of four years, according to state police at Lykens.
Trooper Robert S. Ligon reported that Aaron Lee Hegglin, of 2014 Azalea Road, has been charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, obscene and other sexual material and performance and sexual abuse of children.
The crimes occurred between 1999 and 2003 when the girl was between the ages of eight and twelve, police said.
Hegglin was taken into custody on Oct. 21 at his residence based on investigation into the crimes. Dauphin County Children and Youth assisted in the investigation. Based on the investigation, charges were filed and a warrant was issued.
He was arraigned before District Justice Johnson and was committed to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
DUI
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - A 22-year-old Coal Township man who was stopped for speeding was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana last month, according to state police at Stonington.
Cpl. George R. Ritchey reported that Justin Carl Hendricks, of 1018 W. Walnut St., was stopped for speeding at approximately 4:33 p.m. on Sept. 7 on Route 890 at Foye Road. He was driving a tan Buick LeSabre.
He was charged with driving while under the influence of marijuana and related summary traffic violations by Magisterial District Judge Carl Rice of Sunbury, police said.
DUI II
SUNBURY - A 30-year-old Sunbury man was charged with driving under the influence last month, according to state police at Stonington.
Cpl. George R. Ritchey reported that Nicholas Reichner, of 315 Vine St., was driving a Honda Shadow motorcycle when the officer entered the intersection of Fourth and Race streets. The bike fell onto its side at approximately 12:16 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7. The driver was found to be driving under the influence. He was also operating the vehicle without the proper class of license and protective gear.
He was charged with DUI and related summary traffic violations at Magisterial District Judge Carl Rice of Sunbury, said police.
DUI III
TREVORTON - A 21-year-old Trevorton man was charged with driving under the influence last month, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Thomas C. Leib reported that James Elwood Shingara, of 329 E. Shamokin St., Trevorton, was stopped for a traffic violation along Route 225 in Zerbe Township at 1:21 a.m., Sept. 29. He was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu.
He was place under arrest for DUI, said police.
Theft
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - Various types of machinery parts were taken from a Danville man between Oct. 19 and Oct. 23, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Marc Yemzow reported the victim as Wayne Lamar Lindenmuth, of 3860 Snydertown Road. The parts were taken from 4208 Snydertown Road between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 12 Noon.
