Charges filed
KULPMONT - Trooper James McCormick of state police at Stonington has charged Robert J. Dallazia, 28, of Marion Heights, with careless driving and failure to give information and render aid in connection with a July 4 accident on Oak Street near South 10th Street in Kulpmont.
Police reported Dallazia was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer west on Oak Street at 3:20 a.m. when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle exited the north side of the road and struck a steel support pole attached to an occupied residence with its front end. Police said the pool and its attaching brackets were torn loose from the house and fell to the ground as a result of the accident.
After briefly stopping at the scene, police said Dallazia fled the area by traveling west on Oak Street.
Police said nobody inside the house was injured.
Burglary
BARNESVILLE - State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary that occurred Thursday at the residence of George D. Mammarella, 50, of 22 Circle Drive, Barnesville.
Police said someone gained entry to the home between 3:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. by damaging a screen and opening a window on the north side of the victim's garage. The burglar then broke glass to the kitchen door, reached inside and unlocked the door before proceeding to the kitchen, where he or she stole $25 and prescription medication.
Police said the thief also removed approximately $1,000 from the victim's bedroom before fleeing the scene.
Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call state police at 874-5300.

STONINGTON - State police at Stonington made 23 criminal arrests and investigated 247 incidents in August.

DUI charge
PILLOW - Floyd E. Hulsizer III, 32, of Trevorton, has been charged by state police at Lykens with driving under the influence of a controlled substance in connection with an Aug. 16 two-vehicle accident on Route 225 in Pillow.
Hulsizer suffered moderate injuries in the crash near South Union Street.
