Service theft

ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP - William Williams, 59, of Sunbury, was the victim of service theft Sept. 29, according to state police at Stonington.

Trooper David Townsend reported an unknown offender acquired a telephone service through the victim's account without his knowledge or permission.

The investigation is ongoing.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Michael R. Swatski, 40, of 226 W. Sixth St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Cpl. Chris Buhay for harassment related to a disturbance at 10 p.m. Jan. 24 near his home.

Police reported Swatski is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old Mount Carmel boy.

Underage drinking

MOUNT CARMEL - A 17-year-old female from Coal Township and a 16-year-old female from Marion Heights were cited by Cpl. Chris Buhay for underage drinking involving a traffic stop at 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of South Oak Street.

Three cited

MOUNT CARMEL - Joseph Wires, 25, of South Plum Street, Mount Carmel, and a 14-year-old female from Mount Carmel were charged by Patrolman Kevin Katch with harassment for pushing each other in the 300 block of South Plum Street at 2:45 p.m. Jan. 23.

Vehicles stolen

MONROE TOWNSHIP - State police at Selinsgrove are investigating the theft of two vehicles from Aubrey Alexander Toyota along Route 11 on Wednesday morning.

Police reported a gray, 2010 4 Runner 4x4 valued at $36,000 and a red and white 1995 Ford 250 truck with a plow on the front valued at $8,900 were stolen from the lot.

Police also reported someone stole a license plate from a rental car parked at the lot between December and January. The plate number is ETZ4607.

Anyone with information about the thefts is urged to contact state police at 374-8145.

Shoes stolen

MONROE TOWNSHIP - A 15-year-old Montandon male and a 15-year-old Sunbury boy have been charged by state police at Selinsgrove with retail theft for stealing shoes from Kohl's Department Store at the Monroe Market Place between 11 and 11:15 a.m. Jan. 23.

Disorderly conduct

COAL TOWNSHIP - Patrolman Chris Lapotsky has charged a 13-year-old male from Shamokin with disorderly conduct in connection with a Jan. 25 disturbance in the nurse's office at Shamokin Area Elementary School.

Police said the teen is accused of using obscenities, pushing and threatening staff members and throwing a chair across the room.

Shikellamy grad receives double lung transplant

Nineteen year-old Ashley Spotts, suffering from cystic fibrosis and diabetes, got a Valentine's Day gift of life: a bilateral lung transplant. The 12-hour operation took place Sunday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Presbyterian Hospital.
