Contraband in jail
FRACKVILLE - State police charged Kristen Lynn LaSalle, 25, of West Pittston, with drug violations after an incident at the State Correctional Institute Mahanoy at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Police say that LaSalle entered the prison with prescription medication concealed on her person, with the intent to deliver it to an inmate. Once inside the visiting area, LaSalle was confronted by prison personnel and admitted to the concealment and handed them over to the prison staff.
A preliminary hearing was held before Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and LaSalle was released on her own recognizance. The charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, of Shenandoah.
