Theft charges

MOUNT CARMEL TOWNSHIP - Two 13-year-old males, a 14-year-old male and two 15-year-old males have been charged by Patrolman Brian Carnuccio with theft from a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and defiant trespass relating to incidents that occurred Jan. 9 and Jan. 10.

Police reported the teens, who are students in Mount Carmel Area School District, are accused of entering buses owned by Marvin Klinger Inc. that were parked in the former Bi-Lo parking lot in Atlas and stealing seven fire extinguishers that were all discharged and found later in a nearby creek.

Police said one of the teens also defecated and urinated on one of the buses.

Cattle stolen

LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - Ryan Campbell, 24, of 18 N. 12th St., Ashland, and Damien Motter, 26, of 383 Yeagers Hill Road, Dalmatia, have been charged by Trooper James McCormick Jr. with removing six cattle owned by Michael Schwalm, 31, of 1377 Urban St., Herndon, from his pasture off New Road and transporting the cattle to a livestock auction, where they were sold.

Police said the cattle, which are valued at $3,900, were stolen between July 19 and July 20.

No insurance

MOUNT CARMEL - Joseph J. Daya, 28, of 217 E. Water St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Officer David Donkochik with driving a vehicle without proper registration and certificate of title, driving without insurance and displaying an altered, forged or counterfeit documents or plates relating to an Oct. 14 incident in the 100 block of East Railroad Street.

DUI

RANSHAW - Dane Andrew York, 43, of 1158 Wood St., Kulpmont, has been charged by Trooper Thomas Leib of state police at Stonington with driving under the influence of alcohol and a traffic violation relating to a Jan. 15 traffic stop at the intersection of routes 61 and 901 near Ranshaw.

Harassment

MOUNT CARMEL - Officer Jason Drumheller has cited a 14-year-old male for harassment involving a disturbance at 8:40 a.m. Jan. 15 at a residence on North Walnut Street.

Police reported the teen allegedly became combative following a verbal argument and struck his mother in the arm with his hand numerous times.

Hit and run

MOUNT CARMEL - Mark Allen Lender, 39, of 133 E. Avenue, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman William Adamski with hit and run, careless driving and failing to notify police after his vehicle struck a parked vehicle at Sixth and Oak streets at 2:18 a.m. Dec. 24.
