Drunkenness charge

ZERBE TOWNSHIP - Nathan Michael, 27, of 518 S. 11th St., Trevorton, was cited by state police at Stonington for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct relating to an incident Thursday afternoon along Route 225 near the Dollar General.

Police reported Michael was observed walking and staggering onto the highway while intoxicated and dressed in only boxer shorts, a T-shirt and socks at 1:53 p.m.

Checkpoint stats

WEST MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - One arrest for driving under the influence was made during a DUI checkpoint conducted between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Route 924 and the Brandonville Flats.

Seventy-eight motorists were contacted and four motorists were detained during the checkpoint. Four traffic citations and five written warnings for equipment violations were issued, police said.

The checkpoint was conducted in accordance with the Pennsylvania State Police Department's Checkpoint Strike Force II Program.
