Man stabbed in leg
GIRARDVILLE - State police said they will obtain a warrant for the arrest of a Girardville man who they allege stabbed another man in the leg during an argument at 10:20 p.m. Friday on Main Street.
State police at Frackville said the victim, Kevin M. Powell, 43, of Girardville, was at a home on Main Street playing board games with friends and felt the need to urinate. Not knowing where the bathroom was, Powell went into the backyard to urinate. At that point, John W. Kriete, 40, of Girardville, arrived home to find Powell urinating in his yard.
The two men went back into the house where they began to argue, and Kriete told Powell to leave. As the verbal argument escalated, police said, the confrontation continued one the front porch, when police said Kriete pulled a knife and stabbed Powell twice in the left leg.
The victim was transported to Saint Catherine's Hospital-Fountain Springs, where he received staples in the wounds and was released.
