One-car accident
LOWER MAHANOY TOWNSHIP - A Herndon woman was moderately injured when the car she was driving struck an embankment after she failed to stop at a stop sign Saturday morning, according to state police at Stonington.
Trooper Kirk A. Renn reported that Amanda Strohecker, 19, of Hebe Bypass Road, was traveling east on Mountain Road in a 2008 Ford Focus at 4:50 a.m. when she went through the stop sign at the intersection of Hickory Road.
She then traveled across the roadway into an embankment, said police.
Strohecker, who was wearing her seatbelt, was taken to Giesinger Medical Center, Danville, and was cited for a stop sign violation.
The car was severely damaged, said police.
Stolen vehicles
JACKSON TOWNSHIP - An ATV and a dirt bike were stolen from a Halifax man last week, according to state police at Lykens.
Trooper Justin Laneve reported that the theft occurred between the hours of 8 p.m. July 27, Thursday and 8 a.m. July 28, Friday, at 897 Enders Road.
The ATV was a red and black 1999 Honda 400EX, and the dirt bike was a black and white 1998 Honda 250cc. Both vehicles are owned by Justin John Curtis.
