1-vehicle crash

SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP - A Winfield woman escaped injury after losing control of her car on Route 61 just south of Holly Road Saturday, according to state police at Stonington.

Dahnya N. Heim, 32, was heading north on Route 61 around 4:44 p.m. when her 1998 Hyundai Sonata hit a utility pole on the east berm of the road. The car continued on the grassy portion of the berm before making it back to the road, where it came to a stop.

Heim was uninjured.

The Sonata sustained severe damage to the left front and wheel well. It was towed by Paul's Towing.

Assisting at the scene was the Stonington Fire Department and fire police.

Burglary

COOPER TOWNSHIP - A Bloomsburg man is accused of stealing from a township business Saturday in Montour County, according to state police in Milton.

Kevin McCarthy, 33, is accused of entering the office at Keystone Fuel Service and Key Trucking at 4:20 a.m. and taking cash and other items valued at approximately $1,100.

McCarthy was taken into custody at his home, arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Craig Long and placed in Montour County Jail in lieu of $25,000 straight bail.
