SHAMOKIN - Robert E. Reichwein, 25, of 239 W. Willow St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Sept. 1 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Reichwein was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Jarrod Scandle with stealing an Acer laptop computer belonging to his nephew. Police said the theft occurred March 12.

  SHAMOKIN - Thomas Reddinger, 26, of 521 W. State St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Sept. 1 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Reddinger was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Joshua Wynn with stealing an all-terrain vehicle owned by Kane Knopp, from the rear of 1150 W. Fern St., Apt. 7, on May 9.

  SHAMOKIN - Gilbert M. Chelborg, 44, of 35 Berry St., Coal Township, waived to court Tuesday a charge of retail theft and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Sept. 1 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Chelborg was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Joshua Wynn with stealing $350.64 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 on Dec. 30. 

  SHAMOKIN - Two brothers, Larry J. Decker, 63, of 562-B Chestnut St., Kulpmont, and Jeffrey Lee Decker, 52, of 3168 State Route 61, Sunbury, waived to court Tuesday multiple theft-related charges and were ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Sept. 1 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Larry Decker waived to court charges of theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and criminal trespass, while his brother waived to court charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, theft and criminal mischief.

Both brothers were charged by Trooper Thomas Leiby of state police at Stonington with stealing approximately $27,000 worth of various items from the property of Pedro Hilario Valdes at 5229 Route 61, Shamokin Township, between May 20 and May 22.

  SHAMOKIN - Desiree Thomas, 21, of 397 Badman Hill Road, Paxinos, waived to court Tuesday a bad check charge and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Sept. 1 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Thomas was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Shane Mowery with issuing a bad check in the amount of $600 to Michael Kaleta Jr. on Nov. 10.

  SHAMOKIN - Robert M. Rickert II, 19, of 641 S. Market St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to failure to give information or render aid at the scene of an accident and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay costs and restitution.

Additional charges of hit and run and careless driving were withdrawn.

Rickert was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Darwin Tobias III in connection with a May 6 accident at Independence and Eighth streets.

  SHAMOKIN - Mark K. McDowell, 42, of 227 W. Willow St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a summary offense of disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs.

Additional charges of simple assault, criminal trespass and harassment were withdrawn.

McDowell was charged by Shamokin Bryan Primerano with head-butting Jennifer Britton at his residence on June 13.

  SHAMOKIN - Joseph Schweitzer, 31, of 132 Owl St., Coal Township, was held for court Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, one count of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia.

The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Shane Mowery in connection with a Feb. 7 accident at Third and Water streets.

Schweitzer was ordered to appear for arraignment Sept. 1 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.
