SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants were ordered to appear for plea court March 24.

- Vincent Tyrone Martz, 25, of 125 S. Market St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to a summary offense of harassment and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs. A charge of simple assault was withdrawn.

Martz was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II with striking his girlfriend, Jackie Rupert, in the face multiple times with a closed fist inside their residence.

- Kenneth Brownwell, 47, of 515 S. Market St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $50 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year. Charges of simple assault and stalking were withdrawn.

He was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano with punching Willette Martz in the throat at 515 S. Market St. on Jan. 13.

- Thomas Weinstein Jr., 28, of Shamokin, waived to court a charge of failing to register with Pennsylvania State Police as a convicted sex offender.

Officers were tipped off that Weinstein was allegedly residing at 20 S. Franklin St. since Jan. 4. He was arrested Jan. 20 at that residence by Shamokin Cpl. Darwin Tobias III for failing to comply with registration requirements.

Weinstein is classified as being under community supervision for life as a condition of his parole in New Jersey, but he failed to register both in New Jersey and with Pennsylvania, according to a criminal complaint.

- Gregory J. Adams, 45, of 717 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was ordered to pay a $50 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year. Charges of loitering and prowling at night and public drunkenness were withdrawn.

Adams was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Bryan Primerano in connection with a Dec. 29 disturbance at 22 N. Market St.
