n KULPMONT - Eric M. Maurer, 24, of 543 Main St., Ranshaw, waived to court Wednesday two counts of driving under the influence and other related offenses before Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones.
Maurer was charged by Kulpmont Borough Police Chief Richard L. Wilson III with driving drunk on North Sixth Street, failing to make proper signals and driving with a suspended license on July 21.
At his arraignment, Maurer can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n MOUNT CARMEL - Alexander Kennard Lupatsky, 50, of 12 A. S. Crescent St., Tremont, had a charge of endangering the welfare of a child bound to court before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones on Aug. 11.
Lupatsky was charged by Mount Carmel Patrolman Kevin Katch for dropping off his unsupervised 8-year-old grandson at a playground on West Fourth Street at 4:30 p.m. June 18.
At their arraignments, a majority of defendants plead guilty or no contest, but can also plead innocent and seek a trial.
