n MOUNT CARMEL - Donald James Olowski, 26, of 525 N. First St., Shamokin, waived to court Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones three counts of driving under the influence and one count each of prohibited acts, driving on roadways laned for traffic and restriction on alcoholic beverages.

Olowski was charged by Mount Carmel Township Police Department Patrolman David Stamets Jr. after Stamets observed Olowski swerving while driving east on routes 2034 and 2038 Nov. 28. Olowski's blood alcohol content was 0.208, according to police.

At their arraignments, a majority of defendants plead guilty or no contest, but can also plead innocent and seek a trial.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of simple assault and harassment against Eric Lee Wiest, 36, of 151 Hillside Ave., Elysburg, were dismissed Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones after the victim refused to testify.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of simple assault and harassment against Kelly Ann Wiest, 42, of 151 Hillside Ave., Elysburg, were dismissed Wednesday by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones after the victim refused to testify.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of selling or furnishing alcohol to minors against Jesse L. Miller, 21, of 221 S. Oak St., Apt. No. 5, Mount Carmel, were withdrawn by an assistant district attorney Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Gary Michael Sabo, 40, of 112 E. Fourth St., Mount Carmel, waived to court Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones single counts each of manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, indecent exposure, open lewdness, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Sabo was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Officer Kevin Katch after an incident at 2:17 a.m. Oct. 27. Sabo is accused of trying to sell pills to a group of people in the 00 block of North Oak Street before urinating on a tree.

At their arraignments, a majority of defendants plead guilty or no contest, but can also plead innocent and seek a trial.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Charles Daniel Ankney, 38, of 135 S. Pear St., Mount Carmel, waived to court Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones one count each of driving under the influence, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, drivers required to be licensed, registration and certificate of title required, operating vehicle without financial responsibility, careless driving and driving upon sidewalk.

Ankney was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Sgt. Todd Owens after an incident Dec. 17 in the 00 block of South Maple Street. Ankney allegedly drove a riding mower and trailer south on Maple Street when he drove on the sidewalk to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Ankney allegedly lost control of the mower when pulling back onto the street and hit a parked car.

At their arraignments, a majority of defendants plead guilty or no contest, but can also plead innocent and seek a trial.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Diane Marle Hutko, 41, of 230 S. Plum St., Mount Carmel, waived to court Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones two counts of arson and a single count each of recklessly endangering another person and resisting arrest.

Hutko was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Cpl. Christopher Buhay after an incident on Jan. 26. Hutko allegedly tried to set a fire inside her home at 230 S. Plum St.

At their arraignments, a majority of defendants plead guilty or no contest, but can also plead innocent and seek a trial.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Adam Gerald Adams, 25, of 200 E. Biddle St., Apt. No. 6, Gordon, waived to court Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones single counts each of theft by unlawful taking of moveable property and receiving stolen property.

Adams was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Police Sgt. Todd Owens after an incident on Oct. 4. Adams allegedly stole $25 from the tip jar at Schicky's Wings and Things and tried to remove cash from the register.

At their arraignments, a majority of defendants plead guilty or no contest, but can also plead innocent and seek a trial.
