n Nicholas Winder, 27, of 1048 W. Arch St., Coal Township, waived three separate cases to court in his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III of Shamokin on Tuesday.

Winder was charged in connection with an Oct. 5 drug bust organized by the Northumberland-Montour Drug Task Force.

He was ordered to appear for court arraignment on Friday, Jan. 29 at the Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.

n Charges of simple assault and harassment against Mark J. Padula, 37, of 1255 Poplar St., Kulpmont, were withdrawn by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel when the alleged victim refused to testify at a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Padula was charged by Chief Richard Wilson III of the Kulpmont Borough Police following an incident at his home on Dec. 21.

n Michael Block, 56, of 318 N. Rock St., Shamokin, waived five cases to court before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III of Shamokin at a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

He was charged in connection with an Oct. 5 drug bust organized by the Northumberland-Montour Drug Task Force.

He was ordered to appear for court arraignment Jan. 29 at the Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.

n Jason Mirack, 34, of 1234 W. Spruce St., Coal Township, waived two separate cases to court during his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III of Shamokin on Tuesday.

Mirack was charged with theft by deception and theft by unlawful taking by Patrolman Mark Costa of Shamokin City Police and with receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking by Patrolman Matthew J. Hashuga of Coal Township Police following several instances between August and October 2009 when Mirack, an employee of R.A. Jones and Sons Coal and Rubbish, allegedly was picking up garbage in his personal vehicle and collecting the money.

Police allege Mirack collected $551 from 23 addresses in Shamokin and $437 from 16 addresses in Coal Township.

Gembic ordered Mirack to appear for court arraignment Jan. 29 at the Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.

n Michelle Yeager, 42, of 531 N. Market St., Coal Township, waived four cases to court during her preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III of Shamokin.

Yeager was charged in connection with an Oct. 5 drug bust by the Northumberland-Montour Drug Task Force.

She was ordered to appear for court arraignment Jan. 29 at the Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.
