College News: Local Susquehanna University students recognized
SELINSGROVE - Two local students were recognized at Susquehanna University's annual student awards luncheon, held each May in the days leading up to commencement.
Joshua Druckenmiller, of Paxinos, received the Phi Mu Alpha Scholastic Award at the luncheon. The Scholastic Award is given by the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity to the senior with the strongest academic record.
Druckenmiller majored in music performance at Susquehanna. He is a 2010 graduate of Shamokin Area High School and a son of Robert and Diana Druckenmiller, of Paxinos.
Hunter Hoffman, of Dornsife, received the American Chemical Society Scholar Award. The American Chemical Society Award is given to students who wish to enter chemistry or chemistry-related fields, and is awarded based on academic record, leadership ability, participation in school activities and community service.
Hoffman majored in biochemistry at Susquehanna. He is a 2010 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School and a son of Kenneth R. and Diane Hoffman, of Dornsife.
