Cleanup is scheduled for April 28
A community cleanup event organized by fourth-grade Shamokin Area Elementary School student Rosalind Kane will be held at 2 p.m. April 28. Volunteers will meet at the bandshell in Shamokin.
This is the third organized event planned by Kane in her effort to keep the Shamokin and Coal Township area clean of garbage. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated to Manna for Many food bank.
Everyone is also asked to bring gloves, comfortable walking shoes and a smile. Garbage bags will be provided. All are welcme. Local sports teams, club members and organizations are urged to attend.
