Carmelite nuns in Danville to pray novena
The annual Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be made by the Discalced Carmelite Nuns at Maria Hall in Danville, from Thursday through July 15. The nine days of prayer continues a custom that began in Mount Carmel in 1953 when the nuns came to the Harrisburg Diocese.
There will be no public novena services this year. However, all intentions sent to the nuns by July 16 will be included in their novena prayers, according to Sister Joan Lundy, prioress.
The bonds of friendship remain strong between the nuns and their friends and benefactors in the area. The nuns noted they are grateful for the continued interest shown to the community, and they keep everyone in their prayers.
The nuns can be reached at 1 Maria Hall Drive, Danville 17821.
