MOUNT CARMEL - President Cindy Saukaitis opened the Dec. 13 monthly meeting and Christmas party of the Carmelite 50-Plus Club at Village Towne Restaurant. She greeted the 10 members and officers present.
The group recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Senior Adult Ministry prayer and Saint Mother Pauline prayer, sang the 50-Plus song, prayed for the deceased and sick members of the club and the safety of the troops, and sang "America." A special prayer was said for the victims of Superstorm Sandy.
After the meal, Maria Kaminski read the minutes from last month's meeting. They were approved by a motion by Arlene Terry and seconded by Saukaitis, and placed on file. Al Visintainer gave the treasury report, which was approved on a motion by Jenny Nolan and seconded by Tina Connor and made available for audit.
Terry said 45 members and officers attended the Mass and banquet. She said she is trying to get the Angels Club back under the Senior Adult Ministry umbrella, after acting independently for some time.
The club exchanged gifts, and the president gave all members Christmas ornaments as favors. On a motion by Alma Zosh, which was seconded by Jean Dunkelberger, the meeting was adjourned. The members then played bingo.
