MOUNT CARMEL - Twelve members attended the monthly meeting of the Carmelite 50-Plus CLub. President Cindy Saukaitis opened the meeting and greeted the members. Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the Senior Adult Ministry prayer and the Saint Mother Pauline Prayer, and sang the Over 50 song and a verse of "America."

Prayers were recited for ill members, especially Mary Zenyuh, and for deceased members, especially past president Anna Waskiewicz. Members also prayed for the safety of military personnel. Secretary Maria Kaminski read the minutes, which were approved and placed on file.

Al Visintainer gave the treasurer's report, which was approved and made available for audit.

The president announced tickets for Mass and banquet are available until Sept. 24. She also reported she attended Anna Waskiewicz's funeral. A sympathy card was sent from the club, and an acknowledgment received from the family.

Saukaitis and Kaminski won the 50/50.

The next meeting, to be held Sept. 9 at Visintainer's, will feature pork, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, applesauce and mixed vegetables. Visintainer will bring the cake in honor of his birthday.

The meeting was adjourned on motion of Alma Zosh and Helen Rogutski. Members played bingo.
