Candidate spending at average level
SUNBURY - The pre-election campaign expense reports filed by candidates for county row officers in Northumberland County reflect average levels of spending.
The reports were filed, as required, with the county elections office by Friday. They document contributions and expenditures for the period from June through Oct 21.
Expenditures in the reports reflect costs for expenses such as campaign events, printed and promotion materials, mailing and advertising.
Here is a breakdown of the basic information contained in the reports:
Bartos for Prothonotary Committee (Meg Bartos, Democratic candidate for prothonotary) - Contributions, $5,055; expenditures, $5,051.
Friends of Justin Dunkelberger (Justin Dunkelberger, Republican candidate for prothonotary) - $250 in expenses. (Income/expenses for primary campaign listed in an earlier report).
Friends to Elect Leo J. Mirolli (Leo J. Mirolli Jr., Republican candidate for coroner) - $1,540 brought forward and $95 in contributions total $1,635 in revenue for the reporting period; expenses, $2,559.
Kelley for Coroner (James F. Kelley, Democratic candidate for coroner) - Amount brought forward, $666, and contributions, $8,040, add up to $8,706, total funds; expenditures, $6,012.
Friends of Tony Phillips (Republican candidate for controller) - Amount brought forward, $1,402, plus contributions, $12,747, add up to $14,150, total funds; expenditures, $4,879.
Committee to Elect Grayson - Amount brought forward, $919, and contributions, $11,3890, add up to $12,308, total funds; expenses, $9,239.
Mary L. Zimmerman, candidate for register and recorder - Beginning cash balance, $2,203; expenditures, $350.
In most cases, the contributions listed reflected, in part, personal funds loaned by the candidates to their respective committees.
Post-election campaign reports, reflecting financial data through Nov. 25, must be filed by Dec. 5.
