March is more than springtime for chamber
The Brush Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to several upcoming events in the next few months. Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coal Township will host a Business after Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The chamber encourages members to participate in Business after Hours because of the excellent networking opportunities, relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to get an inside look at a local business.
The month of March represents more than hopes of springtime, it also acts as American Red Cross Month. The chamber is excited to announce that March's luncheon will be focused on how businesses can prepare for disasters. Tom Szulanczyk, of the SUN Area Red Cross, will be presenting this topic at Brewser's SportsGrille from noon to 1 p.m. March 26.
In the month of April, Area Services will celebrate its 25th anniversary and will host a Business after Hours from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 10 at their offices in Shamokin. Come celebrate and congratulate Area Services for their milestone anniversary.
In preparation of the grand opening of the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area May 16 and 17, and in honor of Shamokin's 150th anniversary, the chamber, along with local businesses, is organizing a Beautify Downtown Shamokin project. The project will include a cleanup of the downtown as well as asking local students, business owners and organizations to paint murals on the storefront windows of downtown Shamokin. The murals could be something that pertains to the history of Shamokin, school pride, welcoming ATV riders or something as simple as displaying what your organization is all about.
If you would like to be involved in any of the above mentioned activities, you can go to www.brushvalleychamber.com or contact the chamber office directly at 570-648-4675.
