SHAMOKIN - PA CareerLink Northumberland County's Health Careers Awareness Week 2009 continues with activities Thursday and Friday.

"Caring Communities for AIDS" is the focus on Thursday, with events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A health careers civil service workshop is scheduled from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

The week concludes with Friday's Health Careers Job Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with 12 vendors scheduled to be present. Those looking for a job or a new career are encouraged to attend to meet with employers or learn about training programs.

An eyeglass clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

A health careers resource table is set up for the week as well.

Health Careers Awareness Week included an education workshop on Monday and Project APPRISE on Tuesday. No activities are scheduled today because of Veterans Day.
