Dr. Henry G. Yavorek elected to the Keystone Chapter of the American College of Surgeons as a Region

COAL TOWNSHIP - Dr. Henry G. Yavorek, a member of the Shamokin Area Community Hospital (SACH) medical staff, was recently elected to the Keystone Chapter of the American College of Surgeons as a Region 4 councilor.
The Keystone Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, founded in 2003, represents 42 counties in eastern and central Pennsylvania. Its mission is to represent surgeons in all specialties by promoting stringent standards of ethical surgical practice, offering members educational opportunities and advocating for its members and the patients they serve.
Yavorek has been conducting a surgical specialty clinic at SACH since joining the medical staff in April 1992. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, and specializes in general, vascular and laparoscopic surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Yavorek graduated from the University of Scranton prior to receiving his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, now known as Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia. He completed a pair of residencies at Hamot Medical Center in Erie and St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston.
Yavorek has a surgical practice in Selinsgrove. He resides in Selinsgrove with his wife, Debra, and children, Katheryn, Abby and Jillian.
