Lydia Boyer, of Northumberland, has been selected CAREGiver of the Year by the Home Instead Senior Care franchise office in Lewisburg, which serves seniors throughout the central Susquehanna River valley.

Boyer is recognized for commitment and service to older adults who are local clients of Home Instead Senior Care, the world's largest provider of non-medical home care and companionship services for seniors.

"CAREGivers like Lydia are the core of our business," said local owner Joe DeLauter. "Without dedicated CAREGivers, we couldn't provide the superior quality of service to seniors that sets our company apart from others."

According to DeLauter and other Home Instead Senior Care staff members, Boyer is constantly on the move. She sets very high standards for herself and is extremely conscientious about the care she provides.

While Boyer is very busy and involved with many activities, she, since May, has accepted more than 140 short-notice or fill-in shifts, in addition to the service she has scheduled with her regular clients.
