BTE to provide dress-up Fridays

share thisNUMIDIA - Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble will provide dramatic dress-up Fridays in December at the Southern Columbia Area Family Center.
Nina Winter, education director of the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble, will bring a trunk full of dress-up pieces. The trunk will contain hats, shoes, cloaks and many other props, for preschool-age children to wear for a dramatic dress up that relates to various preschool stories and fairy tales.
Winter will coordinate 20 minutes of structured dress-up and play activities. The program is not just for girls, as the trunk will hold pieces that will be exciting for boys to participate in the dramatic dress-up. Winter will be at the center Dec. 4, 11 and 18.
The Southern Columbia Family Center operates from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday and Friday, and is open to all Southern Columbia Area School District families. The program provides socialization activities for children from birth to 5 years old. Children have the opportunity to play with peers using many preschool-age toys. The SCA Family Center is located at 1082 Numidia Drive, at the rear of Lincoln Investments.
Parents have the opportunity to meet with other parents and share reasonable expectations for their children at any age of development. The center also provides time for parents to play with their children or read together. The center even offers a lending library.

The center is funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, Columbia County Family Centers, Communities that Care and Southern Columbia Area School District.
